Dr Sanjeeva Gunasekera speaks to ecancer about an ecancermedicalscience article he was involved in on the healthcare delivery for non-communicable diseases among breast cancer survivors in Sri Lanka.

He explains that breast cancer patients are at high risk of comorbidities and, as cancer treatment improves in countries like Sri Lanka, it is important to take care of these other morbidities in order to improve overall survival.

From the findings Dr Gunasekera believes that there is a gross under reporting of these non-communicable diseases with many patients not being screened for other malignancies.
