The pharmacovigilance system (PV) in Uganda is overseen by the National Drug Authority, established in 1993 to ensure medicine safety.

The NDA provides guidelines for healthcare stakeholders and hosts the National Pharmacovigilance Centre for product safety. Uganda works with the WHO for drug monitoring, evaluating safety before market entry and responding to adverse reactions.

Healthcare professionals report issues using forms and digital tools, with evolving standards towards electronic reporting.
