Prof David Cameron - University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, UK

Prof David Cmaeron speaks to ecancer in an online interview for the virtual BGICC 2021 meeting about the role of chemotherapy in the treatment of luminal breast cancers

He proposes that chemotherapy is not only a treatment of last resort in luminal breast cancers, and that for patients who do not respond well to endocrine therapy it can have higher efficacy and show a greater reduction in symptoms. He gives some insights that he received from patients to support this view, who reported that they felt that chemotherapy was worthwhile despite the side effects.

Prof Cameron closes by discussing what oncologists can take from his advice regardless of the resources available to them where they practice, particularly since BGICC is so internationally attended.
